At the risk of offending some of you, we want to add our testimony to that of Elder Boyd K. Packer's. He is the Lord's chosen mouthpiece, and we know that he is an Apostle of the Lord. We know that what he preaches is true. As we renewed our temple recommends last month, we did so with a clear conscience that we support not only the leaders of our church, both locally and at headquarters, but we also do not associate nor support groups nor organizations that are contrary to the teachings of the church.
We are so thankful that our leaders have the strength and courage to tell us what the Lord wants us to hear.
"I never want to see the day come when these men, to whom you have entrusted the right and power to preside, shall have their mouths closed so that they dare not reprove sin or rebuke iniquity. … It is our duty to do it. We are here for that purpose. We are watchmen upon the towers of Zion [see Ezekiel 3:17–19]. It is our business and duty to point out errors and follies among men; and if men will not receive it, they must go their own way and abide the consequences. Those who will not obey righteous counsels will be the sufferers, and not those who rebuke iniquity." -Joseph F. Smith
“And whatsoever they shall speak when moved upon by the Holy Ghost, shall be Scripture, shall be the will of the Lord, shall be the mind of the Lord, shall be the voice of the Lord, and the power of God unto salvation." D&C 68:4
We have no grudge against any individuals. We try to love everyone. But we will stand with the Prophets when it comes to behaviors that are contrary to the laws of God.Darin and Katherine
