Then she didn't drink anything, even though she was thirsty, because she thought it was only for the kids who cleaned up their crayons fast.
Last, when I got there to pick her up, the teacher was about to send her home on the bus because she got confused.
Overall, Jadyn really likes school, unlike one of her friends from church, who seems to really hate school. Jadyn especially likes recess, where she and her new friend, Always, like to pretend they are cats and run around the playground meowing and clawing. "But we didn't even crawl!" she says.
Last night, the kids went out to play in the playground in our backyard, and Jadyn started screaming and stamping her feet. We thought at first that she was just freaking out about the box elder bugs or maybe a spider, so we didn't run too fast to her, until she started yelling "Get 'em off a me! Get 'em off a me!" Then we realized it was yellow jackets, and we ran to get the kids out of there and in the house. Luckily they didn't bother Devin, even though she was standing right next to Jadyn. But Jadyn got 12 stings on her legs and feet. I was so glad we had some benadryl gel, and slathered that all over her legs. Some of the stings swelled up at least 2 inches across. It was a little scary waiting to see if she was going to have a reaction, but she didn't. By this morning, they were mostly gone. After the stinging, Darin went out and had a battle with the bees and killed about 20.
Darin said that he heard on the news that yesterday, another kid got stung 12 times. Who knows why they care enough to put it on the news?
Here's some pictures of our second try with the curlers.

She is such a big girl! I cant believe she already starting school. Time goes by too fast. I remember my first day when we moved to Utah. I was scared out of mind and I kept crying saying my moms not coming to get me. My mom did come and get me. Oh sweet memories!
ReplyDeleteI remember that you fell asleep your first day of kindergarten. Do you remember that?
ReplyDeleteI can't believe she is in school! My turn next year! Poor Jadyn and those bees..... Ouch!
